| 74:1 | O you hidden secret.*
*74:1 God's infinite wisdom willed to reveal the Quran through Muhammad, while the Quran's awesome 19-based mathematical miracle was revealed through God's Messenger of the Covenant 1406 lunar years after revelation of the Quran (1406=19x74 & 1974 AD was the Solar Year of discovery). In retrospect, we realize that the whole sura refers to the Quran's 19-based miracle (Appendices 1 & 2). |
يَأَيُّهَا الْمُدَّثِّرُ |
| 74:2 | Come out and warn. | قُمْ فَأَنذِرْ |
| 74:3 | Extol your Lord. | وَرَبَّكَ فَكَبِّرْ |
| 74:4 | Purify your garment.*
*74:4 Quran is the garment containing the secret code. This refers to removing 9:128-9. |
وَثِيَابَكَ فَطَهِّرْ |
| 74:5 | Forsake what is wrong. | وَالرُّجْزَ فَاهْجُرْ |
| 74:6 | Be content with your lot. | وَلَا تَمْنُنْ تَسْتَكْثِرُ |
| 74:7 | Steadfastly commemorate your Lord. | وَلِرَبِّكَ فَاصْبِرْ |
| 74:8 | Then, when the horn is blown. | فَإِذَا نُقِرَ فِي النَّاقُورِ |
| 74:9 | That will be a difficult day. | فَذَلِكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَوْمٌ عَسِيرٌ |
| 74:10 | For the disbelievers, not easy. | عَلَى الْكَفِرِينَ غَيْرُ يَسِيرٍ |
| 74:11 | Let Me deal with one I created as an individual. | ذَرْنِي وَمَنْ خَلَقْتُ وَحِيدًا |
| 74:12 | I provided him with lots of money. | وَجَعَلْتُ لَهُ مَالًا مَمْدُودًا |
| 74:13 | And children to behold. | وَبَنِينَ شُهُودًا |
| 74:14 | I made everything easy for him. | وَمَهَّدْتُ لَهُ تَمْهِيدًا |
| 74:15 | Yet, he is greedy for more. | ثُمَّ يَطْمَعُ أَنْ أَزِيدَ |
| 74:16 | He stubbornly refused to accept these proofs. | كَلَّا إِنَّهُ كَانَ لِاءيَتِنَا عَنِيدًا |
| 74:17 | I will increasingly punish him. | سَأُرْهِقُهُ صَعُودًا |
| 74:18 | For he reflected, then decided. | إِنَّهُ فَكَّرَ وَقَدَّرَ |
| 74:19 | Miserable is what he decided. | فَقُتِلَ كَيْفَ قَدَّرَ |
| 74:20 | Miserable indeed is what he decided. | ثُمَّ قُتِلَ كَيْفَ قَدَّرَ |
| 74:21 | He looked. | ثُمَّ نَظَرَ |
| 74:22 | He frowned and whined. | ثُمَّ عَبَسَ وَبَسَرَ |
| 74:23 | Then he turned away arrogantly. | ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ وَاسْتَكْبَرَ |
| 74:24 | He said, "This is but clever magic! | فَقَالَ إِنْ هَذَا إِلَّا سِحْرٌ يُؤْثَرُ |
| 74:25 | "This is human made." | إِنْ هَذَا إِلَّا قَوْلُ الْبَشَرِ |
| 74:26 | I will commit him to retribution. | سَأُصْلِيهِ سَقَرَ |
| 74:27 | What retribution! | وَمَا أَدْرَكَ مَا سَقَرُ |
| 74:28 | Thorough and comprehensive. | لَا تُبْقِي وَلَا تَذَرُ |
| 74:29 | Obvious to all the people. | لَوَّاحَةٌ لِلْبَشَرِ |
| 74:30 | The Quran's
Common Denominator
Over it is nineteen.*

عَلَيْهَا تِسْعَةَ عَشَرَ |
| 74:31 | We appointed angels to be guardians of Hell, and we assigned their number (19) (1) to disturb the disbelievers, (2) to convince the Christians and Jews (that this is a divine scripture), (3) to strengthen the faith of the faithful, (4) to remove all traces of doubt from the hearts of Christians, Jews, as well as the believers, and (5) to expose those who harbor doubt in their hearts, and the disbelievers; they will say, "What did GOD mean by this allegory?" GOD thus sends astray whomever He wills, and guides whomever He wills. None knows the soldiers of your Lord except He. This is a reminder for the people. | وَمَا جَعَلنَا أَصْحَبَ النَّارِ إِلَّا مَلَئِكَةً وَمَا جَعَلْنَا عِدَّتَهُمْ إِلَّا فِتْنَةً لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِيَسْتَيْقِنَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَبَ وَيَزْدَادَ الَّذِينَ ءامَنُوا إِيمَنًا وَلَا يَرْتَابَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَبَ وَالْمُؤْمنُونَ ولِيَقُولَ الَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ مَرَضٌ وَالْكَفِرُونَ مَاذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ بِهَذَا مَثَلًا كَذَلِكَ يُضِلُّ اللَّهُ مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَيَهْدِي مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَمَا يَعْلَمُ جُنُودَ رَبِّكَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَمَا هِيَ إِلَّا ذِكْرَى لِلْبَشَرِ |
| 74:32 | Absolutely, (I swear) by the moon. | كَلَّا وَالْقَمَرِ |
| 74:33 | And the night as it passes. | وَالَّيْلِ إِذْ أَدْبَرَ |
| 74:34 | And the morning as it shines. | وَالصُّبْحِ إِذَا أَسْفَرَ |
| 74:35 | One of the Great Miracles
This is one of the great miracles.*

إِنَّهَا لَإِحْدَى الْكُبَرِ |
| 74:36 | A warning to the human race. | نَذِيرًا لِلْبَشَرِ |
| 74:37 | For those among you who wish to advance, or regress. | لِمَنْ شَاءَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَتَقَدَّمَ أَوْ يَتَأَخَّرَ |
| 74:38 | Every soul is trapped by its sins. | كُلُّ نَفْسٍ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ رَهِينَةٌ |
| 74:39 | Except for those on the right. | إِلَّا أَصْحَبَ الْيَمِينِ |
| 74:40 | While in Paradise, they will ask. | فِي جَنَّتٍ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ |
| 74:41 | About the guilty. | عَنْ الْمُجْرِمِينَ |
| 74:42 | "What brought you to this retribution?" | مَا سَلَكَكُمْ فِي سَقَرَ |
| 74:43 | They will say, "We did not observe the contact prayers (Salat). | قَالُوا لَمْ نَكُ مِنَ الْمُصَلِّينَ |
| 74:44 | "We did not feed the poor. | وَلَمْ نَكُ نُطْعِمُ الْمِسْكِينَ |
| 74:45 | "We blundered with the blunderers. | وَكُنَّا نَخُوضُ مَعَ الْخَائِضِينَ |
| 74:46 | "We disbelieved in the Day of Judgment. | وَكُنَّا نُكَذِّبُ بِيَوْمِ الدِّينِ |
| 74:47 | "Until certainty came to us now." | حَتَّى أَتَنَا الْيَقِينُ |
| 74:48 | The intercession of the intercessors will never help them. | فَمَا تَنْفَعُهُمْ شَفَعَةُ الشَّفِعِينَ |
| 74:49 | Why are they so averse to this reminder? | فَمَا لَهُمْ عَنْ التَّذْكِرَةِ مُعْرِضِينَ |
| 74:50 | Running like zebras. | كَأَنَّهُمْ حُمُرٌ مُسْتَنْفِرَةٌ |
| 74:51 | Who are fleeing from the lion! | فَرَّتْ مِنْ قَسْوَرَةٍ |
| 74:52 | Does each one of them want to receive the scripture personally? | بَلْ يُرِيدُ كُلُّ امْرِئٍ مِنْهُمْ أَنْ يُؤْتَى صُحُفًا مُنَشَّرَةً |
| 74:53 | Indeed, they do not fear the Hereafter. | كَلَّا بَلْ لَا يَخَافُونَ الْاءخِرَةَ |
| 74:54 | Indeed, this is a reminder. | كَلَّا إِنَّهُ تَذْكِرَةٌ |
| 74:55 | For those who wish to take heed. | فَمَنْ شَاءَ ذَكَرَهُ |
| 74:56 | They cannot take heed against GOD's will. He is the source of righteousness; He is the source of forgiveness. | وَمَا يَذْكُرُونَ إِلَّا أَنْ يَشَاءَ اللَّهُ هُوَ أَهْلُ التَّقْوَى وَأَهْلُ الْمَغْفِرَةِ |
